Flowy Fabulous Frocks & Fishtail Braids at Carlos Miele
We woke up this morning and headed back to Lincoln Center to watch Carlos Miele‘s Fall/Winter Collection 2011. The crowd was excited as guests headed to their seats and the plastic was taken off the runway which was tinted a rich orange color. As the music began, very bright lights turned on and models strutted down the runway. According to the designer, the collection encompassed “tridimensional surfaces, overlays, playing with light and dark, satellite images, graphic stripes, [and a] clash of colors and textures.”
Model Zuzanna Stankiewicz opened the show in the most beautiful grey and nude toned fox fur cape I have ever seen! Other models who graced the runway included Agnete Hegelund, Bo Don and Kamila Filipcikova. Another one of my favorite looks included a red crepe jumpsuit with a black velvet sash. Throughout the collection hoods and velvet accents constantly appeared. Ensembles also included striped pieces in fuchsia, beige and amber oranges. I also fancied a very man-repelling pair of velvet pants that were petrol colored which looked chic and comfortable all at once. And last but not least, flowy silk frocks one by one slowly appeared in various contrasting colors such as rose, chartreuse and electric blue. I loved that hair stylist, Rodney Cutler chose to create high fishtail braids for every single model. The hair combined with the femininity of all the flowy frocks creating a hip and chic coolness to Carlos Miele’s collection as a whole.
