McQueen: When S&M Meets The Renaissance
Ever since Sarah Burton took over designing for the late Alexander McQueen, I feel like the fashion house has almost grown stronger in a sense. With feminine, yet innovative designs and silhouettes, the line continues to impress with each new collection presented. Her latest fall 2011 dresses are romantic and dangerous at the same time due to bondage-like accents. I love the silhouettes used and how shoulders and waistlines are exaggerated with fur accents and textured fabrics. The collection has a whole as a very artistic renaissance feel.
A piece similar to one of these fairytale creations (perhaps something like the one above?) is going to be used in a royal affair. Sarah Burton will be designing Kate Middleton‘s wedding dress for her big day with Prince William. Personally, I’m not a fan of all the royal hoopla, but I am looking forward to seeing Burton’s design.
You can browse Burton’s creations for the McQueen house below and ask yourself, are any of the pieces wedding worthy?
