A Little Fun For Everyone: Christopher Kane Resort 2012

Jun 28, 2011 By Vaneza

Upon seeing Christopher Kane‘s 2012 resort collection, the mini-raver techo-loving house music me (and don’t we all have a little bit of that in us?) totally rejoiced!

According to WWD, the designer was inspired by prisms which made the majority of his angular cut pieces full of rainbow-technicolor like prints. Kane had no fear in mixing classic black and white pieces with neon items such as a turquoise blue jacket and strappy sandals in neon green and orange. Not willing to take such risks when it comes to rainbow colors (like myself…at times)? That’s okay, Kane made like Raf Simons for Jil Sander‘s current collection and got on the color-blocking band wagon with bright pieces that were still fun, as they included lace details or were cut shorter in the front and longer in the back. And if those looking at the resort 2012 collection were vying even more a fashion risk, Kane gave it to them as he presented black lace numbers in neons as well as sparkly silver lame blouses, flared pants and sparkly rose colored skirts.

Combinations that sounded crazy remained classic and fabulous all at once. Whether you’re looking for an ensemble that is fun, basic or risky, I promise there is something for everyone in Christopher Kane’s Resort 2012 collection.
