As it reads on her about page, “Fashion isn’t just a hobby, it’s an extension of who I am”…Blogger Erika Marie was born in Miami and was once a Barneys New York personal shopper as her style talents took her to North Carolina where she now works as a stylist and blogs about fashion. Because she has the ability to make even the simplest pieces come together fashionably (see a blouse, flare jeans and a clutch) Erika and her blog “Fashion Chalet” is our Weekend Read feature!

How did you decide to start a blog? And where did the idea for it’s name come from?
I always took photos of my outfits in high school. It was kind of like a hobby. I would upload them online to share with friends on myspace, etc. Then I found out about blogspot in 2008 and started my own blog. My other fashion related hobby was making collages from old magazines. Now I can both blog about my outfits and collages online.

Are you a full-time blogger or do you have a 9-5?
I’m a full-time blogger. I do some freelance writing on the side part-time and styling as well.
