Jil Sander Jazzes It Up

Jun 9, 2011 By Vaneza

I’m a huuuge Jil Sander fan when it comes to the brand for several reasons. First things first, the collection season after season is the epitome of chic minimalism which I love. Secondly, their color palette every season seems to be on point, whether it’s muted neutrals or fun brights, they always look good. I also appreciate the Simons’ ability to put a funky twist on classics such as the “it skirt” of the season, remember? And lastly (although I could go on…) their ads are always simple, but still cool. I love that they tapped the usually sultry and bubbly Miranda Kerr post her pregnancy and made almost  androgynous-like alongside model Kasia Struss for last season (see image above).

But now, it’s onto their latest season which still rings true to Jil Sander’s basic aesthetic of simplicity, but instead pops with a bunch of color. This season the focus is all about the clothes as one can barely make out model Daria Stroukos‘ face shot by Willy Vanderperre. What do you think? Do you like this season’s collection or last season’s more?
