Jil Sander & Uniqlo: No More
After a very romantic (and by romantic, I mean extremely successful) 3 year relationship Jil Sander and Uniqlo have broken up. It was Sanders’ simple aesthetic and design that fit so perfectly with Uniqlo’s. Season after season, customers basked in beautiful coats, plush sweaters and amazing pant suits-all at affordable prices!
According to WWD, this next fall collection will be her last even though she signed on indefinitely with the brand when her two year contract was up in April of 2010. Uniqlo said of the split, ““With the recent completion of the design of the…fall and winter collection, Ms. Sander and [Uniqlo] agreed that they had fully explored the possibilities of their creative collaboration and accomplished what they had set out to do.”
So I can’t helo but wonder what’s up next for Jil Sander? An H&M collaboration? Because that seems to be what everyone is doing nowadays (cough, cough, Versace)…But hopefully not Sander.
