Lavish Fringe Benefits By Salvatore Ferragamo

By Amy

Sparkly fringe, elegant gowns, and sophisticated shorts aren’t necessarily part of my summer wardrobe, but Salvatore Ferragamo‘s resort 2012 collection has me thinking otherwise. A classic palate of blues, greys, and silver with circa 1930′s era draping left me fawning over many of the looks. With visions of an international travel loving heiress in mind, creative director Massimiliano Giornetti created an aristocratic collection which is comprised of both luxurious garments for day and evening wear. I admire how Giornetti was able to refine overbearing trends such as nautical accents, chainmail, and fringe by transitioning them to an opulent level.

Following along the lines of his envisioned muse for the collection, the intimate runway presentation was held at the James B. Duke mansion on “Millionaire’s Row” on Fifth Avenue in New York. Celebrities including Freida Pinto, Eva Mendes & Emma Roberts alongside NYC socialites were all on hand for the lavish event. Hmm...perhaps we’ll be seeing some of the actress’ decked out in Ferragamo on an upcoming red carpet?

For your own little taste of the high life see the collection and some behind-the-scenes shots below.
