Tory Burch’s Idea Of Southwestern Style

By Amy

Full of vivid prints and bold hues, Tory Burch‘s resort 2012 collection was inspired by the Southwest…er rather, her idea of the region. She didn’t actually visit any Southwestern destinations while researching the area’s aesthetic, which is a little bit of a disappointment. I get that with the internet you can pseudo-visit anywhere in the world, but there’s nothing like physically being in a place and experiencing things first hand that can’t be replicated. Burch’s idea of the Southwest carries more of a seventies hippy flare to it than a Southwestern vibe. However, there are some prints and patterns that remind of souvenir rugs and gifts from my time living in Arizona. I’ll admit, I do like some of the pieces for her resort looks, however some things look like their better left on the roadside…

What are your thoughts on Tory Burch’s collection?
